What is ChexSystems?
Our bank partner uses ChexSystems, a database of past retail banking history, to determine eligibility for a credit builder account. ChexSystems is a nationwide specialty consumer reporting agency under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) that collections information on consumers' closed checking and savings accounts. If you would like to learn more about your ChexSystems report, you can request your consumer disclosure report here.
If you were denied a credit builder account, then you should have received an email with an attachment that shows the reason for not being approved. We also recommend you request your consumer disclosure report to help understand what led to this negative decision. You can do that here.
If while viewing your report you discover any errors, you have the right to dispute any inaccurate information contained in your consumer file at ChexSystems. Once these items are cleared from the ChexSystems report, you are welcome to re-apply for a credit builder account.
